AAOur different atlas formats

AA road atlases come in three main formats. The format of the atlas, together with the scale gives you a rough indication of how easy the mapping is to read and how much information it contains. Some people like how easy the large format A3 atlases are to read with more mapping per page, while others like the convenience of being able to pack the A4 atlas neatly in their back seat pocket. Most people love the compact handiness of the A5 Driver’s Atlas rather than the larger pages of the by the bigger atlases at larger scales.

Sizes

Similarly AA Street by Street atlases come in four different sizes. Street by Street give you a much more detailed appreciation of cities/counties at a street level. Maxi street atlases are A4 size and are the largest street atlases. They are great for easy reference, are very detailed and incredibly easy to use. Midi’s are the ideal size for using in the car. Their handy A5 formats mean they will easily fit into any glovebox – perfect to have for your local area. Mini’s are A6 and are superb pocket sized atlases which cover the top city centers and surrounding areas. They are perfect for the handbag or pocket. Pocket Maps are the smallest of the bunch.

SBS

AA road map sheets come in a standard slimline format (usually 252mm high x 118mm wide) but can open out to a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the scale and area covered.
